The Old Fashioned is one of the hardest cocktails to pull off without alcohol. Too few ingredients, not enough structure. Most alcohol-free versions fall flat. Our founder Crystal will tell you she mourned this one. Old Fashioneds were her favorite go-to cocktail. Leaving them left a hole.
Then she found this recipe from All the Bitter. It's not a one-for-one, and she's grateful for that. Instead, it's become its own thing worth drinking. Her now go-to.
This bundle has the three components that make it work. You'll add your own sweetener: maple syrup is the move, but a good simple syrup does the job.
Kentucky 74 brings the oak backbone, Three Spirit Nightcap adds warmth and botanical weight, and Fig & Walnut bitters layer in dried-fruit richness and spice. Spirit-forward, slow-sipping, genuinely satisfying.
What's inside:
- Spiritless Kentucky 74 (alcohol-free whiskey, 750ml)
- Three Spirit Nightcap (botanical spirit, 750ml)
- All the Bitter Fig & Walnut Bitters (2 oz)
Recipe: Keep spirits chilled. Pour 1¾ oz Kentucky 74 and 1 oz Nightcap directly into a rocks glass. Add ¼ oz sweetener, 5 dashes bitters, and ice (one large cube). Stir 10–15 seconds. Garnish with an orange peel. Express the oils over the glass before dropping it in. Recipe from All The Bitter.
Why this works: Alcohol-free whiskeys don't have the weight to carry a spirit-forward drink alone. The split base. Kentucky 74 for structure, Nightcap for depth. Gives this Old Fashioned what it needs. Starting with chilled bottles keeps dilution in check.
Notes: Alcohol-free • 0.0% ABV. • Vegan • Gluten-free Note: Contains walnuts (Fig & Walnut Bitters). Three Spirit Nightcap contains licorice root, valerian, and ashwagandha. Consult your doctor if pregnant or taking SSRIs.
